Here is a quick guide for redeeming cryptos loaded onto f*D Proofs and/or Crypto-Cards. Please note that not all clients have a debug window and for those applications, one must use the command prompt for redemption.
Redemption via debug window console:
- Launch client
- Go to >help>debug window>console tab
- Enter in the following command shown in italics replacing “privkey” with the private key found under the tamper resistant hologram on your proof of Crypto-Card: importprivkey “privkey”
- Press enter
- Once the client has run its course, the new address will show in your client’s list of addresses and the imported funds will be added to your balance
Redemption via command prompt (using Peercoin for this example):
- Close your client
- Go to your roaming folder and create a config file, if you do not already have one. Make sure it contains the following line: Server=1
- Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\PPCoin\daemon
- Double click on ppcoind – a window will open, leave it open
- Open your command prompt ‘cmd’
- Paste in the location of the ppcoind destination you have already opened in step 3 and 4
- Enter the following command shown in italics replacing “privkey” with the private key found under the tamper resistant hologram on your proof or Crypto-Card: ppcoind importprivkey “privkey”
- Open your client
- You will see the new address and funds added to your client and balance
